Aloe vera farming will make profit up to 4-8 times, setting up a processing plant will further increase earnings

India is an agricultural country, but here most of the farmers complain of low income. The question is why the income of the farmers is not increasing. A major reason for this is that many farmers here do traditional farming and depend on rain for irrigation. In such a situation, if the farmers have to increase their income, then first of all emphasis has to be laid on such farming, so that the income can increase rapidly. One such farming is Elovera Farming, through which farmers can earn handsomely.

In the Corona period, when people understood that it is necessary to have strong immunity to fight diseases, then people have become very conscious about their health. In such a situation, the demand for aloe vera has increased a lot in the market. Aloe vera is also used in making all kinds of medicines and cosmetic products. Along with the cultivation of aloe vera, you can also start many types of business related to it (Elovera Business), which will increase your income further.

When and how is aloe vera cultivated?

July-August is the best time for aloe vera cultivation. Aloe vera can be cultivated throughout the year except winter. Aloe vera’s growth slows down in winter. Before its cultivation, the land should be plowed well and cow dung should be applied in abundance. Aloe vera seeds are not planted, but saplings are planted, which are 6-8 inches tall. About 6-8 thousand plants are planted in one acre of field. Proper distance should be kept between the plants, so that their growth can be done well. For this, such a field should be chosen, whose soil is sandy or loamy and at the same time water does not stagnate in it. Irrigation should be done immediately after planting the plant and after that irrigation should be done as and when the need is felt.

How much does it cost to cultivate aloe vera?

According to the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), the cost of planting aloe vera in one hectare comes to about Rs 27,500. Let’s assume that you will spend around 30 thousand rupees. Apart from this, according to ICAR, in the first year, about 50,000 rupees are spent including labor, field preparation, fertilizers etc. A major advantage in the cultivation of aloe vera is that it can continue for years. Keep cutting aloe vera and new baby plants keep coming around it. That is, if the land is yours, then in the first year it will cost you about 80 thousand rupees to cultivate aloe vera, while from the next year this expenditure will remain only 50 thousand rupees.

How much production, how much profit?

About 15-18 tonnes of aloe vera leaves are available every year from one acre farm. These can be sold to companies making Ayurvedic medicines or companies making cosmetics. The cost of its leaves ranges from 15 thousand to 25 thousand rupees per ton. Let us assume that in the first year your production is 15 tonnes, which is sold at an average rate of Rs 20,000 per tonne. That is, in the first year you will earn about 3 lakh rupees from aloe vera cultivation, in which your expenditure was only 80 thousand rupees. Next year the yield increases and production can go up to 20-22 tonnes. Means next year you earn more than 4 lakh rupees, while the cost will be reduced to only 50 thousand rupees. That means in the very first year you will get about 4 times profit and in the next year the profit can increase up to 8 times. However, from the third year the yield starts decreasing, due to which the earning also decreases slightly.

Earn more by processing aloe vera

If you set up an aloe vera processing plant, then your income will increase further. However, for this you have to keep in mind that you have a large amount of aloe vera. Or you can buy aloe vera from your fellow farmers. You can separate the pulp of aloe vera from the processing plant and make its juice and sell it. It can cost you up to Rs 3-5 lakh, because you will have to install machines for processing. If you want, you can also start the business of making hand wash soap, aloe vera juice, gel, shampoo etc.
