Fish farming has always been an important source of income for farmers in India. Along with farming, farmers do business like poultry farming, buffalo-goat farming and fish farming, so that some additional income can be earned. If you are also a farmer and want to do fish business, then you can do this business in two ways. The first is the Biofloc technique, in which you have to make circular tanks and fish will be reared in them. On the other hand, fish farming is done by digging a pond directly in the ground. If you start this business then you will also get subsidy from the government.
How much subsidy will be given?
Farmers are encouraged by the government for fish farming. In such a situation, subsidy is also given to the farmers for fish farming. This subsidy can be from 50 percent to 70 percent in different states of the country. In some states, under subsidy, the government digs the pond for free, after which all the expenses have to be borne by the farmer. You can easily get information about subsidy from the secretary or village head of your area.
How is fish farming done in the pond?
For fish farming, you will first need a place where you can dig a pond. Keep in mind that the land on which you are thinking of digging a pond, there should be complete water facility around it. You will also have to change the water of the pond in a few days. Dig a pond and fill it with water and then bring the baby fish and put them there. You can get these babies from hatcheries as well and you can also buy them from those doing business. Now keep feeding the fish with grains and fodder on time and after a few months you will be able to get a lot of fish.
How much does fish farming cost?
The cost of fish farming depends on the variety of fish you keep. Not only this, different types of fish are reared in different areas because there is a favorable environment for them. Suppose you keep fish of Grass Carp variety, then you will have to feed them some grains and some grass. If you have dug a pond in a space of 25×25 meters, then till the first harvesting of fishes, you will have to spend about 50 thousand rupees.
How much profit will be there?
In a space of 25×25 meters, you can rear about 2.5 thousand fishes of Grass Carp variety. If they are fed with proper grains and grass, then it becomes more than 1 kg in 6-7 months. Let us assume that even if around 300 fishes die during this time, you will still get 2200 fishes. Keep in mind that the growth of the fish should be above 1 kg, so that you can get good rates.
If each fish is more than 1 kg, then you will get about 2.5 thousand kg of fish. If it is above 1 kg, the fish will be easily sold at around Rs.130-140 per kg. That means you will earn from Rs 3.25 lakh to Rs 3.50 lakh. You will spend a maximum of Rs 1 lakh on fish seeds, children, fodder, maintenance, maintenance. That means you can easily earn 2.25 lakh to 2.50 lakh rupees in 6-7 months.
If your fishes are less than 1 kg then you will get about 2000 kg of fishes. Due to the weight being less than 1 kg, it will be sold at Rs 110-120 per kg. In this case, you will earn 2.20 lakh to 2.40 lakh rupees. In this, even if we remove Rs 1 lakh from the expenses, you will get a profit of Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.40 lakh.
