Know how aquaponic farming is done, organic vegetables grow with the help of fish, are sold very expensive

There was a time when farming was done in India only through traditional methods, but today a lot of experiments are being done in farming. You have already known about Hydroponic Farming done without soil and Fish Farming by Biofloc Technique without pond. Today we will tell about Aquaponic Farming, which is made up of Aquaculture and Hydroponics. Fish farming is done in this and farming is done on the water that comes out of it. Let’s know about aquaponic farming.

What is aquaponic farming?

In aquaponic farming, fish farming is done in a tank on one side and hydroponic farming is done with fish water on the other side. The fishes in the tank excrete up to 70 per cent excrement after consuming the feed. If their faeces remain in the tank, then the level of ammonia in the water will increase a lot. If this happens then it can prove to be fatal for the fishes. However, that ammonia water from the fish tank can be used for hydroponic farming.

When this water reaches the roots of the plants, the bacteria present in the roots break down the ammonia in the water into nitrogen. Nitrogen is very important for the growth of plants. Due to this the plants get nutrition and they develop. After this the water is purified again and sent to the fish tank. That is, the same water is used again and again. This saves water and secondly it also provides nutrition to the plants. At many places vegetables are grown on top of the tank itself, but in that system the water needs to be changed every few days.

These are the benefits of aquaponic farming

This cultivation is best for those places where there is scarcity of water. About 95 percent water is saved in this farming. This is because the same water is used multiple times. In this farming, there is no need to use any kind of chemical to give nutrition to the plants, because they get nutrition from the faeces of the fish. In this way, vegetables and salads grown from aquaponic farming are completely organic. One of its advantages is that it does not cultivate only one layer like land. Under this, farming can be done in many layers.

Keep these things in mind in aquaponic farming

This farming is not done on land and only one water is used for fishes and vegetables. In such a situation, before doing this farming, you should get good information about fishes, hydroponic farming and bacteria. If you want, you can also hire an agriculture expert for this. You have to do this farming in a controlled environment, because the temperature needs to be controlled between 17-34 degrees. The most important thing in this type of farming is that it is very expensive, so first think about marketing your products, then think about aquaponic farming.
