Although farming by making beds increases the production, but in India 80-90 percent people grow mustard by spraying method only. Mustard crop gets ready in just 120 days and there is no need of much irrigation in its cultivation. Before its sowing, the field should be plowed well after adding sufficient quantity of cow dung manure. If there is no moisture in the field, plow it after filling water in the field. If you have the facility of sprinkler, then you can sprinkle water from that too later. However, it is better if there is moisture in the ground, because then your crop will grow well for a long time.

How much cost and how much profit?

If we talk about one hectare, then on an average, production of up to 22-25 quintals is easily available in mustard cultivation. However, for this it is necessary that you choose good quality seeds. If you plant mustard in one hectare, you will need about 4-5 kg of mustard. If you cultivate mustard in one hectare, then your expenditure will be around 30-35 thousand rupees. Right now the MSP of mustard is around Rs.5500. In this way, you will get an income of about 1.2-1.4 lakh rupees from farming in one hectare. That is, you will get a profit of about 95 thousand to 1.10 lakh rupees. In this way, in mustard cultivation, you will get three times the profit of the cost in just 4 months.

Earning can be increased like this

Along with this, about 1500 kg cake will also come out. Right now the oil in retail is Rs 160-180 a litre, so you can easily sell oil at Rs 130-140 a litre. Means by selling 1000 litres, you will earn Rs 1.3-1.4 lakh. If the cost of oil extraction is added to the cost of Rs 5,000, then the total cost becomes Rs 40,000. In this way also you will get a profit of 90 thousand to 1.10 lakh rupees. On the other hand, if 1500 kg of cake is sold even at the rate of only Rs.30 per kg, then you will get Rs.45000.
