If you are a farmer and want to do some farming with big income, then you can do black wheat farming (Agriculture Business Idea) at this time. This wheat is black in colour, which is many times more expensive than normal wheat. This wheat is equipped with many properties, including keeping diabetes under control, that’s why there is a strong demand for it. Let us know how to do Black Wheat Farming and how much profit you can earn from this farming.

First know the benefits of black wheat

Nutrients like protein, antioxidants, fiber, magnesium, phosphorus are abundant in black wheat. Because of these, the one who eats rotis made of its flour, his health also remains good. This special wheat has been developed by the scientists of National Agri Food Biotechnology Institute, Mohali, Punjab. Due to all the medicinal properties, there is a lot of demand for it and for this reason its price also remains high. Black wheat contains anthrocyanin pigment up to 40-140 ppm. In common wheat it is only 5-15 ppm. This wheat proves beneficial in diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart attack, mental stress, knee pain, anemia.

When and how is black wheat cultivated?

Rabi season i.e. cold season is the best time for any wheat cultivation. During this time it is sown and its harvesting is done by March-April. Most of the farmers sow wheat from the middle of October to the end of November, so that they can get the crop on time and get a good yield. Its cultivation gives a yield of up to 15 quintals per acre. Its cultivation is also similar to that of common wheat, but it has to be taken care of a little more and its yield is less as compared to common wheat.

How much profit will be made from its cultivation?

If you talk about common wheat, then it gives a yield of about 20-22 quintals per acre. About 50 kg of wheat seed is used in one acre. Talking about the cost, the farmer has to spend about 15-17 thousand rupees. The cost of plowing the field, irrigation, sowing, harvesting, fertilisers, pesticide is included in this. Let us assume that the yield of wheat is 20 quintals and it is sold at the MSP of Rs.2200 per quintal. In this way your earning will be around 44 thousand rupees. Whereas, if you remove the cost of Rs 17 thousand from this, then you will get a profit of Rs 27 thousand. That is, in this you get a return of up to 2.5 times.

On the other hand, in the cultivation of black wheat, a yield of about 15 quintals per acre is available. The seed of black wheat also takes about 50 kg in one acre. In this, the cost of the farmer comes to about 18-20 thousand rupees and his crop is sold at the rate of 7-8 thousand rupees per quintal. That is, in the cultivation of black wheat, about 1.20 lakh rupees will be earned from one acre. Even if you remove 20 thousand of the cost from this, you will get a profit of 1 lakh rupees. Means you get 5-6 times return in black wheat cultivation.
